Hey there folks! I'm Tony, and I'm stoked to kick off my first blog post. I've been geeking out on privacy for 3 years now, and I'm all about sharing my knowledge with you.
In this post I will briefly introduce my new publication “ShieldMe” by replying to a couple of quick important questions (The five Ws), so make sure to stick around and read the whole thing!
You can always refer to our about page for the full story.
1) Who - The Privacy-conscious Friend you never knew you Had:
As I already mentioned, I’m Tony, I have way too many hobbies and interests including but not limited to: reading, listening to music, drawing, playing chess and sports of all kinds like swimming, biking and football..
I am still a student, and I am planning to get into cybersecurity in the future, which would compliment this blog pretty well. I’ll make sure to keep sharing my journey with you!
I got introduced to the privacy world by watching The Social Dilemma and immediately going down a big rabbit role, discovering videos and publications about the dangers lurking around the internet.
Isn't it ironic that an algorithm designed to keep me scrolling mindlessly through social media ended up pushing me to become a privacy advocate, fighting against the very same algorithm that wanted to keep me hooked? It's like the Matrix, but with less Keanu Reeves and more cat videos.
I will currently be managing and publishing on this Substack singlehandedly, so consider me your friend and go-to guy for any privacy and security related questions!
2) Why - Why did you Start this Substack?
Well, the truth is, I started this blog because I'm secretly a superhero with a mission to save the world...from boring content.
Okay, maybe that's not entirely true (or is it?). But I did notice a serious lack of humor and personality in the online world of privacy and security. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and inject a little fun and quirkiness into the mix. Plus, who doesn't want to read about data protection while snorting their coffee out of their nose?
I also wanted to share the things that I pick up on my journey and spread the word while simultaneously learning new stuff, talk about a bang for your buck!
3) When - How Frequently will you be Posting?
The plan will be to drop fresh content twice per week. While I will be trying my best to keep the publications coming, keep in mind that this is a one man effort.
There might be times where I'd love to be able to drop two blog posts a week, but I'm not a superhero (or am I?). As much as I wish I had the power to clone myself, I'm just one person with one keyboard (and telekinesis abilities). And let's face it, if I tried to pump out two blog posts a week while having a lot of other stuff going on, they'd probably be riddled with GIFs and weird cat memes (not that there's anything wrong with cat memes, mind you). But I am happy to report that for the time being, I will be consistently sticking to two posts a week by dedicating a specific portion of my calendar to blog writing and by always being one post ahead.
4) What - What Type of Content will you be Posting?
On here, you can expect to find all kinds of tips, tricks, and hacks to keep your digital life on lock. I'm talking everything from simple privacy basics to ninja-level cybersecurity strategies. I'm all about giving you the tools you need to take control of your online world.
You might also find some general informative and educational content that’s aimed at new-comers and privacy beginners.
I will also be posting my take on some of the latest worldwide privacy and security news, so make sure you subscribe to my blog to stay in the loop.
5) Where - Where will your Content be Available?
For now, this blog will remain a Substack exclusive. I currently am not planning on starting any other form of content creation, however if you dig hard enough you might find me active on a couple forums ;)
— Well, folks, that's a wrap on my very first blog post! I appreciate you taking the time to read my ramblings on privacy and security. I promise to keep working on my content (mainly my jokes and humor) as we walk this path together. And if you haven't already, don't forget to hit that subscribe button and join me on this wild privacy journey.
See you in the next post, Shield Up!
